Residents for Noe Valley Town Square is pleased to announce that the Granting Agency for the Land and Water Conservation Grant did a site visit to the Town Square on Wednesday, March 19th. The visit went well and we were informed that the agency will make funding decisions by May 1, 2014. The Town Square applied for $733,000 from the Land and Water Conservation Grant.
We received more good news this week when we were informed that the State of CA’s Prop 84 Urban Greening Grant chose the Town Square as one of the applicants to receive a site visit. The Site Visit will be on Friday, April 18th at 2PM. It will be important to have a strong community presence for this visit, so please mark your calendar and plan on attending! As the date approaches, we will send out reminders. The Town Square has applied for $764,000 from the Prop 84 Urban Greening Grant and decisions should be made by mid July.
Finally, we are in the process of applying for a Community Opportunity Fund (COF) from the City. The application is due on April 4th. The maximum COF grant request is $500,000 and Residents For Noe Valley Town Square is working with the Rec and Park Dept to evaluate the appropriate size grant request.
Residents For Noe Valley Town Square is tentatively planning a mid May community meeting to update everyone on the progress of the project. In the meantime, we will send out communications as we have news to share and we will continue to have a regular presence at the Noe Valley Farmers Market on Saturdays.
